Tilt and Trim Internal Filter

Replacing my PT&T motor on 2000 C60, the internal filter 6h1-43817-01-00
is not avaliable anywhere including Yamaha. Would anyone know of a sub.
for this filter or what would happen if I just left it out? The old filter was torn to shreds.

Yes, I am aware that the above part numbers is a good number.

The problem is there is none to be had in the USA. Maybe able to get the
part the end of June. So, everything comes to a halt waiting on a little filter.

Well! what do you know. Yamaha got the part in and shipped same to my
dealer yesterday, June 9. This is two weeks earlier than they said the
part would be in the USA. No complaints about the early delivery.

Put the new tilt & trim motor (ARCO 6260) on with the new filter and bench test showed system working A-OK.
