What are the pro`s and con`s of using outmounts,I want to mount 140hp MOTOR ON A 20` CAT FOR DEEP SEA FISHING,what is your opinion,please remember we have massive and close fetched surf in RSA

outmounts are brackets for mounting motors behind the transom and not on the transom

From what I understand mounting brackets usually allow you to raise the motor higher than when mounted directly to the transom because they push the motor back fare enough to keep air out of water pick up at speed, but have no idea how that would help a cat if one motor is mounted between the two hulls

the higher out of the water you can get it the better.
however on a single engine twin hull boat it typically sets it to high.
