  • Matching a Fuel Sending Unit

Recently purchased a boat with twin 150's 4 stroke. Has 2005 yamaha fuel management system and extra fuel guage. Right now there is only a black and a red wire and ground coming from tank/ sending unit How and where do I find info about purchasing a matching fuel sending unit that will work on management system
    Thanks in advance

depends on if you have the 6y5 digital fuel management or command link digital.
for the US market it should be about 35 to 240 Ohm sender.

I believe I have the 6yR system, the tachs have #31V stamped on back and the fuel mngt dial has #47G stamped on it. Is the ohms variable between 35 to 240. Just want to be able to get right sending unit the first time. There is a single stand alone fuel guage as well. This unit has 5 wires out the back ( white, black, yellow, with a paired black/blue wire. Would prefer to use main guage cluster.
I currently have a Teleflex Morse sending unit in tank. Obviously this has to be replaced with a sender that has proper wire harness to hook up to fuel mngt cluster.
Could you please advise on the correct sending unit and wire harness

Thanks for your help in advance
