2002? 50 hp 2 cycle. Starts easy, idles great. Put it in gear and at "slow" speeds, runs smooth. Push down the throttle and it starts to falter and dies. This happens intermittently. It's never left me stranded, but there have been a few very slow trips back to the dock. Sometimes you can "play" with the throttle "one lever for both speed and gears" and get it to pick up speed and take off.
Today -- first time in water this year, it started right up, idled smooth and took right off after clearing the "no wake zone. Fished a bit, started it up and top speed without dying was about 3 mph.
Any suggestions of where to start? I'll take it into the shop if needed, but right now in the Spring they are pretty well booked up for a few weeks. Hate to miss spring fishing here in Idaho.
Thanks,
Bob
