  • New 4 stroke 70hp prop

I bought a new xpress 18ss with a 70 4 stroke, i think the prop is too big, it has a 15 p power tech. the dealer said it would be ok manufactor said should have a 13p. When it is loaded it will not reach max rpms will on reach 4500.
it seems to lug down when loaded. Would the 13p make a difference.

operating range is something like 5300-6300 RPM.
        its fuel injected.
its either broke or way way way over propped.
I will look when I get to wook if there is a test wheel for the F70.
        but you have an issue.

typically each inch of pitch change will give about 250 RPM up or down.
you need about 1800 RPM change.
I dont think its a prop issue
you need to have it run up on a test wheel, I dont have the test wheel part number here at the house but there is one.
seperates hull/prop issues from engine issues.
