just got a new(to me) rig and the kicker is a 8hp yamaha.. never owned a fourstroke before and the main engine is a evinrude etec im more firmiliar with.. so far the yamaha seems very nice though.. few questions for you guyes though, its hard starting untill its warmed up.. it has a manual choke aswell as the electronic choke, have any pointers as to gettin it started a little easier? and it has a hose sticking out the side bottom with a "plug" in the bottom of it.. it runs to the side of the engine (right side standing behind motor) i assumed it had something to do with changing the oil? also is there a way to get the engine hours from this motor? thanks any other advice aswell would be great!

i took a look today and not sure if this is the model number, it was marked Engine Family, 5ymxm.1972GA does this help? while i was in there looking for a model number or serial number i noticed the manual choke is limited to its half way point, its not comming on fully.... when i get ready to start the engines i will try disconnecting the choke lever and putting it in the full on position and see if that helps at all.Comment
