Can anyone provide me with information on 40HP Yamaha model C40PLRU 6eg sn 33274 I have been told it is a 96 just unable to determine that. It is a 2cyl motor.

I was not looking for a specific problem or question. Just general information. In specific reliability, when did they commence making a 2cly 40 hp for us sales. How does it compare with the three cly perhaps I am looking for something that no one wants to comment on. Anyway thanks sorry for your time.Comment

If you look up your model # at the link I posted and look at the parts breakdown you will see what that model # shows as far as # of cylinders and other partsComment

C was comercial, 2 cylinder for the US market until the 98 run.
P is power tilt,no trim and electric start
L is 20" shaft R indicates its remote control U indicates its a 1996 motor.Comment
