f115a gear oil top-up

can i top-up gear oil through the levelplug??also,book says hypoid 90,i used castrol 90 outboard. what is hypoid??14-5-2011 same question

Marine Outboard Lower Unit Oil only, pump it in the bottom hole until it comes out the top hole, replace top plug/screw, then bottom plug/screw..all done!

No top up

Just dump all oil out through bottom hole yes the vent fill plug needs to come out same time. I would not worry about blowing $15 in gear oil on that expensive perfect machine. Get yourself number 1 screw driver Harbor Freight I own 2 big suckers work very well! $1.99 Dont forget the gaskets and right screwdriver helps tourqing down screws.
