I need to determine why my 40HP yamaha 40ETLK does not have any fire to any cly.
My electrical knowledge is limited at best so please be specific.
I am pretty sure that it is one of the above since i disconnected the control/wire harness turn it over at starter seldion and still no fire so i need to determine which of the above is defective. Keep in mind no yamaha dealer within 100 miles, last one went under. other dealers does not want to work on yamaha.

If you want to work on your motor you really need to pick up a Yamaha service manual and that will give the steps, specs, and what the proper test equipment is needed to test the inputs and outputs of the CDI as that will help pin point where the problem is, if you truly do not have any spark to all cylinders.

pulser coils simply tell the CDI when to out put.
the CDI charge coil simply charges the capacitors in the CDI.
      to loose all 3 sparks????
you either have a stop switch issue, white wire at the CDI, unplug it and retest spark.could be a CDI issue.
could be a stator charge coil issue.
not a pulser coil or an ign coil issue.
