I just bought a new epress xp18ss with a f70la. I was reading some of the data on the motor and it said that it was only a 50hp is this correct.

Also what should the max RPM's be, it maxes at about 4800-5000

dunno where ya got the data.
but its 70 HP at at the prop shaft at 5800 RPM.
operating range is 5300-6300 RPM.

It was on a web sight comparing the Merc with the Yamaha.

Thanks for the reply. Should it prodcue 5800 rpms, it only has about 5 hours on it now.
