  • 175 TLRP will not run when hot

Purshaced Flats Boat with a Yamaha 1991 175 TLRP I have rebuilt the carbs and fuel pumps and changed Spark Plugs the motor runs great 6000 rpms for about 10mins but then It starts to lose power down to about 3500 and will not produse full power the rest of the day. Compression is great, plugs are new, Fuel is all good. where should I start next, Do I have a bad ignation coil ? If so how do I check. Please send me to the next step

A fuel pressure/vacuum gauge will show if there is a fuel supply restriction, and you may need to make sure is is not sucking air.

a Yamaha service manual and peak reading volt meter made for testing these ignition systems or a DVA adapter with regular meter is needed to test the ignition system while problem is occurring.

      It is not sucking air
The engine runs fine, except after running it at idle speeds for about 10 minutes, then shut it down and try to restart after about 20 minutes.
      It will not start
Wait about 2 hours then it will start.
