  • bolts on inside of stern mounting bracket

I just had a F60 maounted on my cc and there were no bolts put through the holes on the inside of the mounting bracket. Aren't there usually two large bolts with some sort of patting snugged up against the transom to give counter support to the 4 outside mounting bolts?

    Hello saltydawgrods,

There should be a total of 4 bolts holding the motor to your transom. The top two bolts should go through your transom and possibly have a "backing" plate on the inside of your transom. The bottom two bolts should go through your transom and should have big round or square washers on the inside of your transom.

I have seen some boats where the bracket is too long and the lower bolts would bottom out below the motorwell and a nut could not be used. If the lower mounting holes are drilled, do they go though to the enginewell or into part of the hull that cannot be accessed?

From your post it sounds like they used lag bolts. Unless someone is clueless, there may be a reason for this.
