MY YAMAHA 98' C115 THAT IS MOUNTED ON 22FOOT HURRICANE THAT SEEMS TO GO INTO THE WARNING MODE AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF WOT. TWICE IV'E HAD YAMAHA TECHNITIONS ATEMPT TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM,BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. ELIMINATED POSSIBLE POSSIBITIES WERE; UNDERCOATING, FUEL UP TO THE CARBS(INSIDE CARBS LOOK SHOWROOM),THERMO SWITCHES,PROP SPINNING,AND I BELIEVE WIRE AND BATTERY ARE ALL FINISHED. ANOTHER BOAT ENGINE TECH WITNESSED THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED THAT THE CDI UNIT WAS MAYBE DEFECTIVE, THOUGH THREE YAMAHA MECHANICS THAT IVE SPOKEN WITH DOUBT IT. THE C115 MOTOR HAD VERY FEW HOURS ON IT. ANOTHER CLUE IS THAT WHEN RPM REDUCES, THE ALARM DOSN'T SOUND THOUGH PROVED OPERATIONAL. AND AN INTERMITTEN "WHINING SOUND' HAS BEEN HEARD. PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE 98 C115

Thanks for you helpfull reply. Could that intermitten "whining sound" be due to overheating, such as the piston skirt maybe scrapping when expanding?, and have any of you fellow owners of a YMA C115 heard the same short whines? About the cooling, I've heard that the pressure relief valve being stuck open can cause similar affects, but after going a parts lists over the internet, maybe the C115 really didn't have one. Help would be greatly appretiated from you all. And thanks again for your first reply.
