  • Remanufactured Crankshaft

    I blew a bearing between the Crank and connecting rod. Thinking of having the crank rebuilt ($280 verses $930). Has anybody heard of any negative stories of rebuilt crankshafts? Is this a bad idea?

    I've heard it can be done ,depending on how bad it is.I just rebuild my 225, my crank was too bad,So I bought a good used one $600!! bucks.Well I've got about 25 hours on mine since rebuild so far so good ,Knock on wood...

      i recently rebuilt a 70 hp yamaha that has a pressed crank. cant change main bearings. he gave me a crank for parts. he is very knowlegable about all outboards cranksincludig racing cranks.
      i sent both cranks to pmcna.com and they pressed both cranks apart and built a good crank for $ 125
