I have a 2005 90 TLRD 2-smoke, and want to try to switch to a binnacle control. Going to try to find a good deal on one on ebay.
1st question - are there particular models of the binnacle, have they changed over the years...or will the ol' standard 704 binnacle be a direct replacement for my side control.
2 - what about installation...hard/easy? And would I have to get lucky that the control cables were the right length?
It took me a while, but i used the info on this forum to take apart and re-assemble my carbs, so while i'm no mechanic, i can get by usually.
Is this (changing to a binnacle) something u think I can tackle myself or should I leave it up to the stealership.
