Hi.
According to my manual, my 115 2t Mod. 1991 newly rebuild carbs, need their pilot screws adjusted to 5/8 of a turn.
However, my outboard mechanic urged me to set them at 2+, since "Considering the age of the outboard, I will avoid possible hesitations in the operation of the engine" he said.
Apart from the obvious increase in fuel consumption (in tick-over the fuel flow goes above 5 lit/hr), are there any other downsides in setting the pilot screws at 2+ ?
Having set the pilot-screws according to the manufacturer data for a while, the engine had difficulties in starting when hot ...
Thanks
