The engine ran fine a few weeks ago. Tried to start it today and it just cranked. Did not even try to start. Is there any way I can check the CDI unit? The engine is a Yamaha 1993 200hp, I think 200tx. Thank you very much. Nick

A service/repair manual will give the steps to test the inputs and the outputs of the CDI and what equipment to use to check it all out.
Did you make sure your kill switch is hooked up properly.
make sure to test spark with spark tester on all cylinders and then make sure it is getting fuel -
Thank you for your help. I went ahead and disconnected and reconnected the electrical connection on the engine. There must have been something that might of had some corrosion, because it started. Again thank you NickComment

but without finding what the problems actually was you may have a problem again in a most inconvenient place and timeComment
