well i bought this motor a couple years back did a bunch of work on it and then had to leave to college well now im a sophmore and i have a house so i brought my boat up with me but since i bought it the motor has not had a serial number plate i dont believe it was stolen as i bought it from an older man that had for a long time anyways i was told there are numbers on the freeze plug that will help identify this motor the numbers on mine are 096800 im just trying to find out what parts i should be buying for this motor because it has a bent prop shaft and i want to buy a carb kit the parts ive been buying have been for a 95 and all have fit so far its just i dont want to buy a new prop shaft then it not work because it is kind of expensive.

096800 doesn't come up as a valid serial number for a manual or electric start or a short shaft or long shaft model. -
Yamaha 90 hp serial on freeze plug
Kan anyone help me date and get a modelnumber on my Yamaha.
Number i found on the freeze plug is 63882. Its hard to buy parts when i dont know what im looking for. :-)
