replacing 40 exhaust

In the middle of replacing the exhaust on my 40. Stupid question - how do I get to it?

Are you trying to replace the exhaust muffler or what?
You will have to drop the lower unit and upper casing to get to the exhaust muffler, I believe.
You really need a Yamaha shop manual to guide you along. Go to www.yamahapubs.com for online ordering.
