I have a 2007 25 yammy 2 stroke somehow when I changed the water pump I got the shift adjustment out of wack, so I pushed plunger down to reverse and threaded the linkage ferrel nut downand the lock nut up against it, in reverse the distance from the bottom of the transom lock wire, thats under the nut is approx .18 inches to the top of the housing of the lower unit the yammy manual shows .14 -.18 inch space but does not say in what position.
The engine will not start in gear and doesnt seem to make anysounds saying that it is rubbing either forward or reverse
ALL SEEMS Well, it goes into each gear cleanly and holds as far as i can tell in a trash can full of water
My ? is did I do this correctly , I dont want any future suprises because of this
Thanks for any help or clarification the yamaha manual is very vague
Thanks FAW
