  • How many lbs required to tightened up prop

What's going on fellas. I was told that you need certain amount of pounds to tightened up the prop. I have a 2002 yamaha 150 V6 2 stroke. Any advice will be appreciated..

For my 2005 F150, the torque spec is 38.4 ft/lb. I believe your lower unit might be the same. If you have to go a little more to line up for the cotter pin, no problem.

it also depends on who made the prop and the type of prop hub being used.

I always use just "good and darn tight", then a bit more if required to line up the cotter pine holes. No need to put the "gorilla" torque on it, after all it's just the prop on the shaft! Good Luck
