yamaha tech gauge? re hours

hey guys newbie here,

ok i have a yamaha saltwater series and the tech gauge is showing 1748 hours,

from what ive seen that there is ment to be a decimal point betweet the 4and the 8 or could my motor really have 1784 total hours on it just seems alot for a 2002 motor.

i have read alot of posts here but none seem to cover tha answer i need

no decimal points on the yamaha 6y5 series stuff.
either that engine has a lot of hours or the hour meter is wrong.

thanks anyway of telling? it all runs sweet but i just have been reading up on it all.
