Model year question

I have a 90 2-stroke that was manufactured in June 2004. This might be a stupid question, but that means it's a 2004 model year, right. I ask because i want to add a digital tach and there's different tachs for 2004 & 2005 model year motors. Thanks.

It would be a 2005 model year, the last letter in model number should be a "D"
