I just bought an '03 50LRTB. Inside the cowl, on the lower right as you look at the motor from the boat, is a wiring harness/plug that was unplugged from its mate. The motor ran fine without these wires connected. When I plugged the connectors together and turned the key, I got a high pitched alarm-type horn that did not go off when I started the motor. It was filled with oil and operating at normal temps. I unplugged the connectors and the motor ran fine all day.
What is the purpose of this alarm and these unplugged connectors?
