adjusting the idle

I have 1987 70 hp Yamaha, just wondering how to adjust the idle, it does not want to stay running whens started.

what kind of maintenance history has this motor seen?
Sounds like it may need carbs cleaned, fuel pumps,etc. if it has good compression and spark
