yamaha speedo trip fuel gauge

i am having trouble with fuel gauge . after problems with corroded wires and removing sensor & gauge , i am not sure wheather i have wires back in correct positions or gauge is faulty . .wires to sensor are blue & blue-white . wires from gauge are black ( 2 no ) red white blue and yellow. the gauge either states a full tank or if i change wires it flashes on first increment . can someone please help. all fixed problem caused by bad contact to loom, thanks

wire colores.
red is constant 12V for speedo memory.
black is ground,yellow is key on 12V,white is US and europe fuel send, white/blue is yamaha fuel send,rarely used outside japan.
dark blue is back light.
if this is US market the fuel sender is the 35-250 ohm, can be tested with a standard multimeter.
roughly 35 ohms float up and about 250 float down.
if the fuel tank is metal the sender must have a seperate ground and be bonded to the fuel tank.
