2000 90 tlry hard to shift into reverse

Hi , my 2000 90 TLRY is becoming increasingly harder to shift into reverse , once you get it in gear it works fine . Iv'e disconnected the cable to check if that was the problem , but it moves freely .
So I cranked it on the hose and shifted it by hand forward neutral shifted fine , could not shift to reverse at all . Troubles coming , what do I need to look for ? Thanks

Most of the time it's the cable, might try a new set of cables.

Nope not the cables , they move freely. I can't shift into reverse with the lever on the engine.

if your positive its not the cable and you have checked for any obstrctions, its most likly the shift cam and pin failing.
fix it now or later.
later always cost more.
