  • F100X analog tach warning light wiring

I posted a question before and made it a little more complicated than it needed to be. How (where) do you connect the oil and temp warning lights (at the motor end) for the analog tacho for a carby model F100X?

    Thanks in anticipation

Use the 68F-82553-70-00 wire harness and connect to the two off white colored square connectors on engine and connecthe other end of harness to tach.

      Thanks

Thanks for your help on this. I'll go to Yamaha to get the harness.

The problem is that there are no sockets/spare connectors at the motor to connect anything to. Is the 68F-82553-70-00 a long harness or a short one that fits inside the motor, replacing one of the existing plug combos and adding flyleads to another socket to allow the leads to the tach to be connected?

        Thanks,

It connects to square 4 prong connectors(off white colored) on engine and runs all the way up to gauges. If there is already wires connected to those connectors then search under the console to find other end(would have same type connectors on gauge end).

            Hi,

The plugs are full and the motor is on a stand, not connected to the boat. One with 4 wires goes direct to the trim unit under the hinge, the 2 wire one (greens from memory) go to the computer.

I am mystified. Perhaps I should post some pics?

            Thanks,
