  • Starter Problem

I have a 1994 200 ProV. When I turn the key to start all I get is a click sound. The starter doesn't engage at all. Before it gave out completely I would turn the key on and off a few times and it would engage the starter and start. It did this about four times before it quit completely. Would this mean the starter is bad or is there a sylanoid or something that could be out? Something cheeper than a starter? LOL..

    Thanks, Wally

If the relay clicks you need to check for power from the relay to the starter.

The starter circuit is simple enough to troubleshoot with a factory manual.

Spend some time with the service manual and you will avoid replacing parts unnecessarily.

Most of the time poorly maintained battery cables are the cause.

    Good luck.
