I have just had my outboard serviced by a supposedly reputable authorized dealer.
It is an F200 ? - 2004 4 stroke.
Upon my first use since the service, the engine icon on the tachometer flashes once slowly, followed by 8 quick flashes.
I telephoned the service department and spoke to one of the technicians. He dis some checking and advises that it relates to the system not registering whether the motor is in gear or not, "probably as a result of them putting too much grease at the appropriate position".
Does this sound correct?
The motor seems to operate fine, but I am pissed off with this dealer as they never get it right first time and I have to cart my boat 70km from my beach house to get it serviced by them.
Any advice would be appreciated.
