How do I get trim gauge to work on yamaha

I had a good look at unit has lever with screw in center, wires I guess are hooked up. Owner of this boat mentioned it did not work. I just switched tach from Number 6 to #5 which I think is 12pole setting. Does the tach have anything to do with tilt wiring. My gauges are faria on crestliner

lets ID the tach first.
your describing a faria tach, possibly made for OMC/BRP.
the 5 pulse setting was used by BRP/OMC but never by yamaha.
the 6 pulse setting was used by Yamaha engines that utilized a 12 pole alternator setting.
picture of the tach face and rear would be nice.
is this an analog tach? factory yamaha digital tach?
then onto the actual trim sender.
how many wires are on the sender? 3,black, pink and orange OR two wires a black and a pink.
trim indicate has nothing to do with tach send.

Ok going out to take picture on gauges and lever thingy. Have few questions on my new to me 90yammy. The tach on had a 5 and 6 setting with flat head screw driver. Was set on 6 when got boat thinking that might be why tach is not working. I can get picks of back side. Original this boat had 1999 60 johnson then owner blew it up then replaced with this 2000 yamaha 90. Wiring looks to be yamaha however the control is just shifter mounted low on side. There is brown and black wire attached to middle tilt gauge. Guessing brown is sender and black ground, purple 12v power which runs to volt meter. Does this motor's oil injection work off tilt gauge reading. Am I missing a part on trim sender ive seen a hoop looking thing $18online how does that install. Powered on ignition switch drops down when off goes to top. Leaving for vegas but will get online to see if we can get this ship shape.

you may be able to wire around the tach to get an RPM indicate.
you will not have any alarm visuals.
that trim meter wont work with the yamaha 3 wire sender.
now we need a picture of the control box, especially any wires exiting the box with rubber caps on them.
now we have to figgure out how this thing as jury rigged.
couple that with Faria is italian for junk and it may be best to purchase the correct rigging parts.
