225hp jumps out of gear

I have a 2000 SX225TXRY that starts and runs good. I can run all day at 25kts or below. When I go above that the shifter is kicked out of gear and the engine dies. After making sure both shifters are in neutral it will restart and run the same way, all is fine below 25kts (tack hasn’t worked in quite awhile). I have an upper and lower station. Suggestions?

carefully recheck all adjustments.
I am assuming you have the yamaha duel station binnicle mount controls.
you should also be getting an audible alarm when it kicks out of gear.
are you positive it kicks out of gear before it quits ?
but its imperative we ID the controls your rigged with.
