You can make sure that is the problem, should be easy to see if the tank on the motor is falling too far as you are running at upper RPMs pull the cowl and run it.
Or do the PM like Yamaha says and test the system.

Ive pulled the filter out looks fine pulled the oil pump off looks to be getting plenty of clean oil started the motor ran for short period pulled themo housing off thermostat was extended and heads were pretty hot just wondering if that's to soon for the motor to be so hot?
Also corrosion in housing took poppet value out looked to be fine little corrosion whats the best way of cleaning passages ? Much appreciated the response's thank all
