40 HP TLRC lower Unit 2004

How to install drive shaft seals? Unable to remove lower pump housing to replace seals can not remove plastic housing.

I take it this is a Yamaha?
why can you not remove the pump parts?

40 TLRC yamaha

I removed the upper pump housing, impeller and plate but am not able to remove the lower plastic pump housing which houses the drive shaft seals I tried pressuring the lower unit to 17 inch pounds with no results. The shift shaft housing came out with pressure previously, but the pump housing doesn't budge.

most the ones with the plastic seal carrier I have to destroy the seal carrier to get them out. especially salt water engines.

I got mine out

If it's like mine i hit woodruff key,whole area with PBblaster and frozeoff let set over night. Did not want to come out but with some time it did.
