trim motor, down works, up doesn't....

I have a power trim on my 2001 T50TLRZ, there is power all the way down to the trim motor...down works, up doesnt...hit the up button and 12v tester lights up , but, motor doesn't respond...any help is welcome...don't want to buy a part I don't need....thanx

check to see if the relay is completing the return path,it swaps both the +& -
to reverse the motor

Thanx for the info, the relay clicks when the up is pushed.....can I swap the pos and neg wires to see if up works and down doesn't?

Yes, I would swap the 2 leads that go to the motor.
You should be able to check with the meter also.
Are you saying the relay does not click in the down but does in the up?
