Hey guys, my friend and i have been trying for months now to fix what seems to be a feul problem with his 89 yamaha 40 horse. It is a 3 cylinder engine, and is oil injected.
The problem is, when idling for more than a few minutes, the engine will eventually sputter out no matter what you do, and at high speed, you must maintain pumping the primer bulb or the engine will bog down untill you pump it once again.
He had it checked out twice last year, and they replaced the carbs first, with no result, and then the ignition coils, and finally the feul pump.. now we're running out of ideas so we came here, if anyone has any suggestions, it would be more than greatly appreciated.
