40 horsepower wiring

I recently purchased a 1979 ish 40 horse 2 stroke outboard which was in bits. I have just completed the rebuild and the outboard is now running however the wiring from the outboard has been chopped. I have five wires (and the colours are red, blue, brown, grey and orange) from the outboard but my loom has seven (black, white, yellow, green, red, brown and blue) and I am unsure how to join these up. any information and help would be gratefully received.

Not sure which wire harness you are talking about but we don't have any information on motors older than 1984.
