Help! 115 V4 Yahama

I have a 1994 115 v4 Yahama on my Scout. It starts good and runs fine, but when I stop for 5 minutes I have to go through the cold start process of pulling the choke giving it gas, pushing the choke back in. It will not catch when I simply turn the Key.

Might try to idle engine down for a minute to help cool engine before shuting engine off to see if helps.
