Oil Warning Light System

I have 1986 Yamaha 115 with analog tachs. What controls the warning light system red, yellow, green? Are they controled by the Oil Control module or something else. Sometimes they come on when key is turned on and sometimes they will come on after engine is run for awhile.

They are controled by the oil level sensors and oil control module.
