43 hours on a 225 Yamaha 4 stroke outboard . Noticed after approx 35 hours When startup in Ocean rpm drop when accelerating . So shut off ..restart and ran fine . This Problem was occasional BUT last 2 times boat was used problem was each time. below 1000 runs fine throttle up 2-3-4000 and rpm drops looses power and at full throttle rpm increases and decreases (surges) . Had 20 hour and winterize before this started. Will electronic diagnosis define cause of problem

Could be a low fuel pressure issue or an electrical issue, need to have fuel pressure tested and put on computer for diagnostic. -

Thank you. I have it on a lift right now. should the pressure test be done out of the water since it only occurs at upper (increase throttle) rpm .Will the diagnostics would show up any other problem?Comment

The fuel pressure test needs to done at time engine is having problem to see if loosing fuel pressure.Comment
