  • 2002 F100 4 Stroke Water Cooling Problem

On Saturday, I fished in the ocean for 7 hours with no motor problems. On Sunday afternoon, I attached my rabbit ears to the cooling water inlet to flush the water cooling system and it appeared that water was getting drawn into the system; however, no water discharged from the discharge pilot hole.

I removed the cowling, started the engine again with the rabbit ears attached and could feel the block get warmer. I turned off the engine.

I then connected a garden hose to the flushing device and could feel the water running though the system; however, no water disharged from the discharge pilot hole.

Before I assume that I need a new water pump, what else should I do or check to see if the cooling system is functioning properly. Thanks for your advice.

you should really use a bucket as some times you do not get enough water through rabbit ears
