Motor Dies

I have 6hp 4stroke Yamaha outboard that has been very reliable for the past five years. Recently I can start her up at half throttle, but turn the throttle down a hair and she dies. Not even close enough to adjust the idle.

I have changed the plugs, fuel and refitted the fuel line with new fittings and filter.

Is this a common problem? Any steps I should proceed with? Suggestions? Any help would be great.

Probably need to remove and clean carb.
