no water thro the pee hole

9.9,1984,yamaha outboard,new impeller just now installed,no water being produced thro pee hole.lower unit is submerged in water below the water intake,engine is running(seems hot),water tube was correctly lined up and connected.what is the problem???i shut the engine down after 30 seconds,pulled the lower unit,found no water in the impeller.no,i only replaced the impeller.the old impeller had no damage ,so no debris could have been sucked into the water jacket.

hey if you check your peep hole trace the water line and pull it and blow air back thru it sometime bugs put dirt in peep hole just check that and its a good chance that is what going on
