1986 70hp no acceleration at low rpm then power

i just got this motor---70hp 2 stroke 1986
it starts and idles fine but when i put it in gear its as if it is only running on 2 cylinders and is hard to keep running
after throttling, it almost dies at low rpm until it hits a lower point of load then takes off like crazy. it runs good after picking up


what can this be?----i've adjusted all the timing screws and messed with the throttle screws and still does the same thing.

i disconnected the vro oil injection and just mix gas into the tank 50-1
could the oil level sensor be causing this?

Probably need to check compression, remove and clean carbs.

Defonatly check commpresion first. Might save alot of time. Let us know if and how u fixed the problem.
