I am trying to switch from mechanical steering to hydraulic. My issue is I can't get the rod from the old mechanical system out of the clamp bracket bolt. It is rusted I think. Any tricks that someone could share with me on handling this situation. Also I was just reading the install instructions for my new Baystar hydraulic system and it says I need a "spacer kit". Looks like it is just a ss fender washer can I just buy the washer and bolt (3/8" NFx 1-3/8" ss) @ hardware store. Any recomendations on where to buy yamaha parts cheaper than a local dealer? Thanks in advance for the help. OH..... I have a 70hp yamaha '03.
