  • :-( 2007 200HPDI Won't Rev Right in Neutral - Please help

Hi - I am repowering from a single Yam250 to twin 200HPDI's. I bought the motors used, one is a 2006 and the other a 2007. Both start fine and idle. The 2006 revs great in neutral but the 2007 sounds just like a "9.9hp revving up" and kind of "bogs" when given more throttle. When I shut it down and shift it into drive then fire it back up it seems to rev up fine. I swapped the shift position switch from the 2006 motor but am still having the same issue.

The shift and throttle cables are not connected, I am doing the shifting and throttling manually at the motor.

    I heard of "guardian mode"?

Ps - I connected each engine individually to the single switch 10 pin main harness that's still on the boat to just start the engines to see them run. Only connections are the battery cables, the 10 pin main cable and the remote oil tank.

The HPDI models have a neutral switch that limits the rpm's it can run when in neutral, It should run as normal when in gear.
