  • Wiring changes from 1990 to 1994 200HP

I am replacing my 1990 200HP ETXD engines with 1994 200HP SWS engines. The main wiring bundle connector is a match. However, all the other connectors are different. Where can I get wiring diagrams for both sets of engines to determine how to connect the engine wiring with my existing cables? Problem: I'm going from round connectors to square connectors and have several unidentified wires.

1990 ETXD had the standard round main engine cable as well as 3 other four wire connections.

2004 TXRS has the standard round main engine cable but has only two four wire connectors and one two wire.
The two wire connector has a green/black wire and a green/red wire. I have the same two green wires on the other engine except the EXTD also has a yellow and yellow/red wire in the connector with the two green wires.

The other problem is with the oil tank harness. On the ETXD I have a brown, black/red, blue and black wire. WHile on the TXRS I have a yellow, black/red, blue and black. To me it seems the yellow wire on the TXRS harness is most likely the same wire as the brown on the ETXD but afraid to connect until I know for sure.

    Thanks for any help.

Not sure if you are installing a 1994 or a 2004 200hp motor. The main 10 pin harness is the same, the gauges and oil tank harness will be different. You can use 6R3-82541-00-00 adapter harness to connect the oil tank harness to engine harness. If this is a 2004 motor then the old trim guage wont work so if you have a digital tach you can use adapter 6R3-82541-10-00 to get oil lights in gauge to work.
