choke & multi gauge problems

I just rigged a 2004 40hp 2 stroke on my boat. I bought a main switch #704-82570-08-00 everything work but the key choke. can I check it some how? Do I have an electric choke on this engine ?
I also just bought tach gauge rig kit 6yr-w0035-e2-00 & adaptor 6y5-85335-10-00 after i hooked it up trim has one bar on bottom flashing as well as temp is flashing. wondering if i did something wrong? please help

A 2004 40hp motor is a Prime Start model and has an auto choke system, the key switch won't activate the choke.
Make sure tach dip switch is set for 2 wire trim sender and black wire on the adapter harness is connected to engine ground.
