Yamaha V150 Alarm

1989 Yamaha V150 I assume the alarm for low oil (not getting enough oil) and over heating is the same? How does one know if it is low oil alarm or over heating? I even read that it could be faulty switch and alarm goes off at idle cold engine? My alarm went off I think it is in the remote control?

It has a low oil warning and an overheat warning. If have the Yamaha gauges then it has the warning lights at bottom of gauge to let you which warning has activated.
