my 89' 175ETXF smokes at idle! is it normal

I have a 1989 175 precision blend, it runs good, starts right up doesn't faul my plugs, but it smokes a little at low rpms and idle(or when *****ing), enough to cause a anoying smell of smoke, i only used this engine a hand full of times( like 10). any help is highly appreciated. thanks

by the way ive checked compression and it's 110 to 115 on all six. i have also rebuild the carbs, and changed fuel filters.

Some smoke is normal. Switching to synthetic will help......

haven't tried that, iam currently running 87 octane, would it help to run higher octane fuel?
